LOCATION:  ALPHARETTA, GA OFFICE

JOB TITLE: Surplus Lines Tax Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position  is responsible to ensure entities are following state specific surplus lines regulatory requirements, process surplus lines transactions in a timely manner, reconcile and complete periodic reports and payments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Processes surplus lines tax transactions within the deadlines set by state entities.
  • Complete and file tax reports on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Reconcile and correct discrepancies between the tax report and tax documentation received, including but not limited to working with production teams to resolve invoicing errors and missing documents.
  • Monitor unpaid tax reports and other internal reports to ensure timeliness in payment and reporting of all surplus lines taxes.
  • Issue accurate and timely payments to state authorities via ACH or live check.
  • Work at the direction of the Director of Compliance to complete surplus lines state audits or inquiries
  • Special projects as needed.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Job related experience, specialized training, certification or any special licensing necessary may also be included.

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry, admitted vs. non-admitted markets, is preferred.
  • Previous surplus lines compliance or surplus lines accounting experience preferred.

JOB TITLE: Financial Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Support various business units in reaching their goals through analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue and expenditures.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
  • Contribute to the continued development of budgeting, reporting (recurring and Ad-Hoc), and analysis.
  • Prepare and distribute quarterly and monthly financial reports.
  • Special projects as needed.

 SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions
  • Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum five year experience as a financial or business analyst

JOB TITLE: (1) Entry Level Marketing Representative

  • Tennessee Territory-GA office

 JOB DESCRIPTION:

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify new agency partners and develop and maintain the business relationships with those partners.
  • Attend independent agency functions and conventions throughout the state.
  • Collaborate with underwriting staff to promote Genesee General to contracted and prospective agencies.
  • The ability to meet an expected number of agency calls, understand agency contracts and licensing, and maintain a solid working knowledge of the underwriting process and carrier underwriting appetites.
  • Weekly reporting of agency visits.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with communication activity back to manager.
  • Extensive travel is required.
